Plant Reminder privacy

Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Plant Reminder collects, uses, stores, and protects personal data when you use our app, including plant care tools, cloud sync, optional social features, and related support services.

1. Who we are

Plant Reminder is a plant care application that helps users manage plants, reminders, photos, notes, and optional social interactions. Depending on how you use the app, your data may include account details, plant-related content, technical information, and information connected to community features such as profiles, follows, feed activity, likes, or reports.

For privacy-related questions or requests, you can contact us at myplantreminder@gmail.com.

Important: Some features are optional. For example, public profile visibility, approximate location, notifications, personalized ads (where applicable), and social participation may depend on your settings, permissions, device configuration, or region.

2. Data we collect

We may collect the following categories of information:

  • Authentication identifiers from Apple, Google, or email-based login.
  • Username, profile preferences, language, locale, profile picture, and account settings.

Plant care content

  • Plant names, scientific names, categories, notes, reminders, watering and fertilization history.
  • Plant photos, gallery items, captions, and profile images for plants.
  • Plant diagnostics, AI-assisted plant content, and care-related records you generate in the app.

Social and community data

  • Follow requests, followers, followed users, public profile settings, and social notifications.
  • Feed activity, likes on photos, profile interactions, and community-related actions.
  • Reports, moderation signals, blocks, and abuse-prevention records when required to keep the community safe.

  • Device model, operating system, app version, crash logs, performance diagnostics, and similar technical data.
  • Identifiers required to maintain sessions, secure storage, or support core functionality.
  • Analytics events and app interaction data used to understand feature usage and improve reliability.

Approximate location data

If you grant permission, we may process an approximate location derived from your device location data, such as rounded coordinates, city, country, and timestamp of last update. We use this to adapt features such as seasonality, plant care logic, or location-aware experiences.

Notifications

If you enable notifications, we may process push notification tokens, notification preferences, queued notifications, and related delivery metadata.

Information from third-party sign-in providers

If you choose Apple Sign In or Google Sign-In, we receive the information necessary to authenticate you and create or maintain your account. The exact data shared depends on the provider and your provider settings.

3. Social features and visibility

Plant Reminder includes optional social features. When you use them, some of your content or account information may become visible to other users, depending on your privacy settings and the type of interaction.

Examples of social visibility

  • Your username, avatar, and certain profile information may be shown to other users.
  • If your profile is public, other users may be able to discover your profile and see content you choose to share.
  • Photos or other activity shared in social areas may appear in feed-like surfaces, profile pages, or social lists.
  • Likes, follows, and related activity may be visible to the relevant users or reflected in aggregate counts.
Use caution when sharing: Content you post in social features may be seen, copied, or interacted with by other users, subject to your privacy settings and our moderation tools.

Reporting, blocking, and moderation

To help protect users and comply with platform rules, we may provide tools to report content, report users, block users, review abuse reports, and take moderation action when necessary. Information submitted through these tools may be stored and reviewed for safety, legal compliance, abuse prevention, and enforcement of our terms or community rules.

7. Ads and analytics

We may use analytics to understand app usage, measure feature performance, detect errors, and improve the user experience. Where the app includes advertising, ad-related providers may process certain identifiers, device signals, or usage information in accordance with applicable law and your consent choices.

If consent is required for personalized advertising or similar processing in your region, we will request it through the app before using that data for those purposes.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal data against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. These measures may include encrypted connections, authenticated access controls, secure cloud infrastructure, and restricted administrative access.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
